Story

Alémais is a modern Australian fashion brand with limitless imagination. Since 2021, Alémais has been designing original-print pieces made from a curated mix of low-impact textiles. They collaborate with artists and craftspeople around the world, drawing on natural, historical, and modern references. Alémais is led by creative director and founder Lesleigh Jermanus, a graduate in Fine Arts and former head designer at Zimmermann. The name Alémais comes from a combination of her given names, Lesleigh and May, with the A signifying a new start.
Production

Alémais partners exclusively with global suppliers that are audited by internationally recognized social compliance standards such as SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA), Social Accountability standard (SA8000), Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), and the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). These independent third parties ensure that labor practices comply with workers’ rights, including wages, health and safety, discrimination, freedom of association, and child labour.

Alémais strives for transparent and sustainable practices that celebrate artisanal techniques and natural fibers. They are committed to creating a collection that supports artisanal communities, reduces environmental impact, and treats suppliers with honesty and respect.
